Customers who hold a Free Travel / DSFA Pass can book on their chosen service by selecting the 'Free Travel Pass' option in the Passenger selection box. Customers are advised there is limited availability for Free Travel bookings online.

  • You can purchase the ticket above using our Journey Planner. Tickets can only be purchased up to 90 days in advance.
  • An allocation of bookings on all InterCity services can be reserved online without a fee for 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders'. When this allocation is fully booked, all remaining seats can be reserved by 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders' for €2.50 per journey.

If you are looking to travel short distance for day trips or to events around Dublin, our DART and Commuter services are the perfect way to get around. Both services run as often as every 15 minutes and serve a large number of stations around Dublin and into the surrounding counties. The DART line runs along the coast of the Irish Sea from Malahide or Howth in North County Dublin southwards as far as Greystones, Co Wicklow. This line offers stunning scenic views while you travel quickly from town to town. The Commuter services stretch the DART lines slightly further, continuing out to the surrounding counties of Dublin, such as Louth, Meath, Longford, Kildare and Wicklow. Iarnród Éireann offers a huge discount on tickets purchased online as opposed to tickets bought at the booking office in our stations. When customers book online in advance of 7 days or more they will avail of our cheapest fares subject to demand. For more information, see our webfares page.

When booking online, you can avail of our seat reservation system. If you are travelling with friends or family why not choose to seat beside each other to avoid disappointment of being split up on busy trains. Sit back and enjoy each others company while travelling through our beautiful countryside. 

Family Travel

For families of up to 2 Adults and 4 Children, Iarnród Éireann offer excellent family fares. For family days out on the DART a family of 1 or 2 adults and up to 4 children can get unlimited travel by DART or Suburban rail for a day for just €20.
